James Franco to play the lead in 'Rise of the Apes'

Los Angeles, May 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) James Franco has been chosen to play the lead role in the prequel “Rise of the Apes”. The movie is the prequel to the movie “Planet of the Apes”. And 20th Century Fox is expected to release the movie in late 2011.

“Rise of the Apes” will explain the events that led to the “Planet of the Apes”. Franco’s role would be that of a young scientist. The young scientist would have a key and a critical role in the conflict between the apes and humans. The conflict arose when a string of genetic experiments went awry and led to the apes becoming too intelligent. This created a conflict between the living humans and the apes. The conflict was for power and dominance of the planet.

Shooting of the film is expected to start on the 5th of July 2010. The film would be shot in San Francisco. The film will be directed by Rupert Wyatt and the movie would premiere on June 24, 2011.

James Franco is also a part of the Danny Boyle movie which is called ‘127 Hours’. Apart from this he is also the lead star for the comedy ‘Ricky Stanicky’.
