Don’t look now, but Oscar Sunday is only a little bit more than a week away — on Sunday, Feb. 27, to be exact – which means you’re running out of time to do the homework necessary to exhibit your dominance in your Oscar pool.

He who demands the attention of young girls commands the attention of the world — or at least the advertising world. For those young ladies tend to go shopping and will soon grow up to head households and make the fateful purchasing decisions that result in the rise and fall of many a brand.

This is why Justin Bieber, a seemingly insipid and not-yet-shaven singing sensation is a very, very big deal. Hot off a hit movie and a Grammy appearance, the Canadian-born pop star returns to guest star on “CSI” (9 p.m., CBS, TV-14) as the troubled teen Jason McCann.

He’s not the first young or youngish performer to cameo on “CSI.” Over the years the show has featured guest-starring roles featuring musicians Taylor Swift, John Mayer and Travis Barker from Blink 182.

The war in Afghanistan probably doesn’t get the media attention it deserves. but you can’t say it hasn’t inspired strong documentaries. Last fall National Geographic broadcast “Restrepo,” a film later nominated for an Oscar. now HBO offers “The Battle for Marjah” (9 p.m., HBO, TV-MA) a similarly intimate look at Marines in combat.

Filmmaker Ben Anderson spent two months with Marines during last year’s U.S. military offensive in an attempt to seize territory and the initiative from the Taliban in the hostile Helmand province. We see Marines facing gunfire and discovering and defusing roadside bombs. They also interact with locals whose response ranges from affection to hostility by way of ambivalence. their allies in the Afghan police and military prove problematic.

Anderson spends enough time with the Marines to see them gain their initial military objective, only to see their company riddled by casualties over months of occupation. The decision to take Marjah and its role in the overall strategy is not for these men to judge or second-guess. as one survivor observes, “Marines fight battles, they don’t fight wars.”

Here are some highlights of what to watch on TV this week:

At San Diego's Allen Airways Flying Museum, host Mark L. Walberg and appraiser Nicholas Lowry examine some of the earliest-known posters depicting mechanical flight. Other highlights in this, the third of three episodes, include "Captain America" co-creator Jack Kirby's personal collection of vintage comics, a set of Cartier cufflinks, buttons and studs dating from about 1915, and a landmark collection of 17th-century botanical illustrations. Casey, Chuck and Sarah (Adam Baldwin, Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski) are dispatched to Morocco to rescue Roan Montgomery (guest star John Larroquette), but Chuck and Sarah are at odds about their future together. Lindy, a former high-school cheerleader, was so devastated when her husband left her after 17 years of marriage that she gained 175 pounds. at 37, she weighs close to 300 pounds, and her daughters won't have anything to do with her. Harry (Kathy Bates) worries about Malcolm's (Aml Ameen) association with Tommy (guest star Christopher McDonald). Damien (Johnny Ray Gill) puts himself at risk to get justice after Chunhua (Irene Keng) is attacked. Adam (Nate Corddry) turns to an ex-girlfriend (guest star Jordana Spiro) for comfort. Castle and Beckett (Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic) definitely aren't lacking for suspects as they investigate the brutal murder of a lottery winner who ticked off a lot of people by moving swiftly from poorhouse to penthouse. Martha (Susan Sullivan) must decide what to do with her inheritance, which she isn't convinced she really deserves, in the new episode "Lucky Stiff." Jon Huertas and Seamus Dever also star. (PG)

Miffed when Jim (Michael Chiklis) comments that he is better suited to crime fighting then she is, Stephanie (Julie Benz) tries to solve the case of her friend's attack before her superhubby does. Daphne (Kay Panabaker) cries foul when Jim allows J.J. (Jimmy Bennett) to date a senior but won't let her do the same. Katie (Autumn Reeser) discovers unsettling news about Joshua (Josh Stewart) in the new episode "no Ordinary Double Standard."

9 PM and Midnight on FOOD

In the new episode "Valentine's Day," four cupcake bakers compete for the chance to have their mouth-watering displays featured at a romantic oceanside wine tasting for couples. And the show has even fielded a very special guest to help judge this special edition: romance icon Fabio.

Marti (Aly Michalka) is kidnapped for a Hellcats initiation. Savannah, Lewis, Alice and Vanessa (Ashley Tisdale, Robbie Jones, Heather Hemmens, Sharon Leal) remember when they became Hellcats themselves. Marti worries her interest in Travis' (guest star Ben Cotton) case could cause trouble for her friends. Matt Barr also stars in the new episode "Remember when." (14)

Haddie (Sarah Ramos) makes a brave decision, while Crosby and Jasmine (Dax Shepard, Joy Bryant) hit a rough patch in their relationship. Drew (Miles Heizer) has a breakfast meeting with his father (guest star John Corbett, "United States of Tara"). Lauren Graham, Peter Krause and Monica Potter also star in the new episode "Just Go Home"; Michael B. Jordan guest stars. (PG)

Lydia (Regina King) is forced to deal with being in the spotlight while working on a celebrity murder case. Sammy (Shawn Hatosy) escapes the office to go out on patrol. John and Ben (Michael Cudlitz, Ben McKenzie) are frustrated over a boring security detail in the new episode "Cop or not." (MA)

Well, looks as if we can finally lay to rest the phrase "dumb animals." In the new episode "how Smart Are Animals?" cutting-edge researchers demonstrate how animals not only are smarter than most of us think … they're also smarter in ways we never have understood before. And we're not just talking wonder dogs. Underwater footage demonstrates that mollusks have startling problem-solving skills. (G)

Annie (Kelli Giddish) serves as bait in an attempt to reel in a corrupt cop (guest star Eric Mabius, "ugly Betty") who preys on single mothers to get close to their daughters, but the case reawakens raw emotions for Daisy (Rose Rollins). Luke (Jesse Metcalfe) is embroiled in an internal investigation that could indict Marco and Jimmy (Amaury Nolasco, Cole Hauser) in the new episode "Father Figure." (14)

A portrait of the defining moments of Ronald Reagan's 93 years features rare footage, photos and audio clips, as well as such key figures from his White House years as news correspondents Sam Donaldson and Bob Schieffer, former Secretaries of State Colin Powell and George Schulz and Secret Service Agent Jerry Parr, whose split-second decision saved Reagan's life from an assassination attempt.

Matthew Perry ("Friends") returns to network series TV in this new sitcom that casts him as Ben Donovan, the self-absorbed manager of a San Diego sports arena. In "Pilot," Ben spends his 40th birthday trying to get rid of a hockey rink that won't melt so a circus can use it in a few hours, looking for a lost elephant and trying to fix a PR nightmare. On a more personal note, marketing director Alice (Andrea Anders) ends her casual relationship with Ben. (PG)

10 and 11 PM on BRAVO

For the Quickfire challenge, the remaining chefs are tasked with putting their own distinctive spin on a retro dining classic: fondue. Later, the elimination challenge finds the cheftestants appearing on Jimmy Fallon's late-night talk show, then catering the former "Saturday Night Live" star's birthday party, where Fallon also serves as a guest judge. Padma Lakshmi hosts the new episode "Feeding Fallon." (14)

Contestants including the Hockey Hottie, Ripped Rhino and mr. Grinch get a decidedly frosty reception from the Snowplow Sweeper and try to avoid a chilling plunge off the Wipeout Ski Lift as they struggle to navigate the snow-laden course in a bid to win $50,000. John Anderson and John Henson are hosts for the new episode "Winter Wipeout: this Little Piggy Went to Wipeout." Jill Wagner is co-host. (PG)

Million Dollar Listing

Josh Flagg is forced to make a difficult decision while dealing with a delusional client who steadfastly refuses to accept the realities of the real-estate market. Josh Altman risks losing his commission when he accepts a sub-par listing as a favor to his mother. Madison must jump through hoops to get a listing from a hard-nosed millionaire in the new episode "no Guarantees in the Real Estate Game." (14)

Nikita (Maggie Q) reluctantly assumes a past alter ego to help Ryan (guest star Noah Bean) stop a dangerous new weapon from coming into the U.S. Michael (Shane West) interferes in Alex's (Lyndsy Fonseca) new life with Nathan (guest star Thad Luckinbill). Matthew Marsden also guest stars in the new episode "the next Seduction."

Tom (Aziz Ansari) tries to even the score with Ron (Nick Offerman) by going on a date with Ron's ex-wife (guest star Megan Mullally, Mrs. Offerman in real life). April (Aubrey Plaza) is assigned to work with Chris (Rob Lowe). Amy Poehler, Chris Pratt, Adam Scott and Rashida Jones also star in the new episode "Ron & Tammy: Part Two." (PG)

Ask any villain and he'll tell you Archer (voice of H. Jon Benjamin) is a potent adversary. And apparently he's potent in other departments as well, based on how his favorite call girl just showed up at ISIS with a newborn son and a subpoena for a paternity test. Aisha Tyler and Jessica Walter also lend their voices to the new episode "Blood Test." (MA)

Be My Valentine, Charlie Brown

Poor Charlie Brown. All he wants is to be remembered on Valentine's Day. what he'd really like is a greeting from the Little Red-Haired Girl, but he'll settle for a card from anyone at all. And Linus wants to get the perfect gift for the teacher he idolizes in this special. (G)

8 and 10:30 PM on BRAVO

Movie: Ocean's Thirteen

They're back for another round in this 2007 sequel. this time, Danny Ocean (George Clooney) calls forth his cronies to plot revenge against a casino owner who wronged one of their own. does it never occur to this guy that if you participate in illegal things, bad things probably will happen? Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Elliott Gould, Al Pacino and Don Cheadle co-star.

The story shifts back to events "over there," with the Fringe Team investigating a terrorist who has armed himself with a chilling weapon: an insect that enjoys devouring human flesh. Alternate Olivia (Anna Torv) is reunited with her boyfriend. Despite remaining determined to save his world, Walternate (John Noble) discovers there are lines he will not cross. Joshua Jackson, Lance Reddick and Blair Brown also star in the new episode "Immortality." (14)

The Ricky Gervais Show

KarL claims to have witnessed a bee having a heart attack once during his frequent walks to observe ants, moths and other insects and ponders the best animal to be if everything were the same size as humans. Stephen asks Karl a question regularly posed to guests of "Inside the Actors Studio." Karl's diary includes a news report of a new sea creature being found in the new episode "Insects." (MA)

Everyone has a favorite moment from this delightful tale of the slow-witted Southerner who consistently lands on his feet … and smack-dab in the middle of history … thanks to dumb luck and lots of heart. Tom Hanks took home something more valuable than a box of chocolates for playing Forrest: a best actor Oscar for the second year in a row. Sally Field, Gary Sinise and a pre-"Sixth Sense" Haley Joel Osment also star.

Movie: Wedding Crashers

Nobody likes this type of guy in reality, but apparently, movie versions are great. the comedy "sleeper" of 2005, this bawdy tale casts Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson as lawyers who attend weddings to which they haven't been invited … to meet women. the rules change when Wilson's character finds love with the daughter (Rachel McAdams) of a politician (Christopher Walken). Jane Seymour has a hilariously image-busting role as the woman's mother.

One of the first signs of spring for NASCAR fans has to be the smell of race-car exhaust in the air, likely provided by the first Sprint Cup preseason race of the year, today's Budweiser Shootout from Daytona International Speedway. the 75-lap, 187.5-mile race has a field that consists of all 2010 Chase contenders, all past winners of Daytona races (the Shootout included), the past 10 Cup Rookies of the Year and any past series champion who doesn't otherwise qualify.

Movie: the 40-Year-Old Virgin

Steve Carell ("the Office") scored a sleeper hit as the co-writer … with director Judd Apatow … and star of this comedy about a man whose experience with physical intimacy has been limited, to put it mildly. his co-workers and pals try to help him catch up, but he has ideas of his own, especially when he meets an appealing single mother (Catherine Keener). Seth Rogen and Paul Rudd co-star.

It started as a John Waters-directed movie, then transitioned into a hit stage musical. now it comes full circle by taking movie form again in its more tuneful incarnation. the entertaining tale lets John Travolta make an amusing gender switch as Edna Turnblad, mother of aspiring 1960s dance-show participant Tracy (newcomer Nikki Blonsky). others (Michelle Pfeiffer, Brittany Snow) don't want plus-sized Tracy to have a spotlight.

Movie: the Sunset Limited

Pulitzer Prize winner Cormac McCarthy adapted his play of the same name for this HBO original movie about a deeply religious black ex-con (Samuel L. Jackson) who tries to reach out to a white college professor (Tommy Lee Jones, who also directed and executive produced) he has just stopped from throwing himself in front of an oncoming train. (MA)

Movie: gone With the Wind

"Sir, you are no gentleman." "And you, miss, are no lady." this epic 1939 film won eight Academy Awards, including best picture. Based on Margaret Mitchell's novel, it spans the years before, during and after the Civil War. Vivien Leigh stars as Scarlett O'Hara, a spoiled Southern belle dealing with the harsh living conditions of the war and its aftermath. Clark Gable, Olivia de Havilland and Leslie Howard also star.

The 53rd Annual Grammy Awards

During this year's festivities at the Staples Center in Los Angeles honoring excellence in the recording industry, Arcade Fire, Eminem, Cee Lo Green, Lady Gaga, Miranda Lambert and Katy Perry are scheduled to perform. Eminem leads this year's pack of nominees with 10 nods, followed by Bruno Mars with seven. (PG)

8:30 PM on Channel 29

Tina (voice of Dan Mintz) joins a martial arts class after developing a crush on the new instructor (voice of guest star Jon Glaser). Bob (voice of H. Jon Benjamin) decides to take matters into his own hands when Tina shirks her responsibilities at the restaurant in the new episode "Sexy Dance Fighting." (PG)

Stella (guest star Polly Bergen) tries to force the Scavos to pose for a family portrait with her abrasive new husband (guest star Larry Hagman). Bree (Marcia Cross) continues to keep a huge secret from Keith (Brian Austin Green). Mike (James Denton) tries to determine whether Zach Young (guest star Cody Kasch) was involved in Paul's (Mark Moses) shooting in the new episode "Flashback." (PG)

Sept. 23–When it comes to a roller coaster career, it’s hard to find anyone who can match the highs and lows of Ben Affleck.

An Oscar winner for screenwriting 1997′s “Goodwill Hunting” at age 25, Affleck’s career hit rock bottom with “Gigli” in 2003. but Affleck has steadily rebuilt his resume, the latest his second directorial effort, “The Town.”

like his directing debut, “Gone Baby gone,” this is a gritty, authentic look at the seedy underbelly of Boston, with Affleck leading an outstanding cast. This is another solid effort behind the camera from the 38-year-old, firmly establishing him as a rising filmmaker.

“The Town” tells the story of a group of childhood friends from Charleston, a blue-collar neighborhood in Boston, who have made a living as armed robbers.

the latest job, a bank robbery, ends with the crew taking a young lady named Claire (Rebecca Hall) as a hostage. since they committed the crime in disguises and Claire hasn’t seen their faces, they let her go, but soon learn she lives in the same neighborhood.

the group’s leader, Doug (Affleck), decides to befriend the woman to see how much she knows about them and if she can possibly pin the robbery on them.

This friendship quickly turns to romance, with Doug eager to put his life of crime behind him and start a new life with Claire.

but Doug soon learns his past can’t be left behind that easily, forcing him to come clean about his past.

a Boston native, Affleck clearly has an understanding of the ins and outs of the neighborhood — and like “Gone Baby gone,” he brings that area to the screen with a rich story and strong characters.

the cast is first-rate. Jeremy Renner, as Doug’s longtime friend and partner in crime, follows up “The hurt Locker” with another outstanding performance. Jon Hamm from television’s “Mad Men” is also very good as an FBI agent on the trail of the bank robbers. There is also some good supporting work from veterans Pete Postlethwaite and Chris Cooper, as well as Blake Lively.

To his credit, Affleck is very capable in the lead, with a performance nearly as good as his previous best, “Hollywoodland.” I’ve also been a big fan of Hall since “Vicky Christina Barcelona.” I think this is a film that might lead to bigger and better roles.

the strong cast is given good material and a confident eye behind the lens from Affleck, who delivers a film that is ultimately a cross between “Heat” and “The Departed.” Affleck shows he can handle a film heavy on strong characters, but also proves to be a solid director of action sequences — especially during a chase sequence through the streets of Boston and a finale that involves a robbery in Fenway Park.

the result is one of the fall season’s first must sees. This isn’t quite on the level of “Gone Baby gone,” but it is still a very strong — and entertaining — film.

Also in theaters

If you are looking for something a little lighter, I suggest the delightful new teen comedy “Easy A” (B+), a cross between “Mean Girls” and the John Hughes films from the 1980s that features a star-making performance from Emma Stone.

Stone plays Olive, a clean-cut high school girl who tells a lie to her best friend (Alyson Michalka) about losing her virginity.

that lie quickly spreads and Olive is labeled the school slut. Instead of denying the rumors, Olive embraces it — using her new reputation to advance her social and financial standing.

This is a smart and funny film that works largely due to Stone. the 21-year-old actress has shown she can handle her own with supporting work in “Superbad” and “Zombieland,” but she makes the most of her first starring role, giving a performance that is full of sass and spunk, but also sweet and kind of vulnerable.

Thomas Haden Church, Lisa Kudrow, Patricia Clarkson, Malcolm McDowell and Stanley Tucci are also good. Amanda Bynes brings all she can to a role that is essentially a retread of Mandy Moore’s character in “Saved.”

Bynes’ character and a couple of plot twists keep this from being a perfect teen comedy, but it is still very good. besides, any film that gleefully acknowledges Hughes with a montage, and then proceeds to borrow the blueprint for those films, will always have a soft spot in my heart.

“Easy A” does that and more, resulting in a film teens and their parents can both enjoy.

“Easy A” is rated PG-13 for mature thematic elements involving teen sexuality, language and some drug material and is now playing at the Greenwood Mall 10 and Highland Cinemas in Glasgow.

Larry King’s seventh marriage may not be over after all.

“There’s a 50-50 chance this divorce is not happening,” Larry’s
lawyer Dennis Wasser says. “His focus is on the best interest
of his children. It’s not clear to me which way he’s going to
turn on this issue.”

The revelation comes as Larry and his wife Shawn attended
counseling Monday. In a separate statement, Dennis says, “It
was decided that there will be no divorce proceedings for two
weeks as several issues need to be discussed and resolved.”

Larry and his wife were seen walking arm-in-arm Sunday at their
son’s baseball game in Los Angeles. The couple, who have been
married for 12½ years, have two boys.

The pair also embraced at a previous game one day after both
filed for divorce amid rumors of infidelity.

Mo’Nique’s Brother Apologizes for Sexually Abusing Her…

The brother of Oscar-winning actress Mo’Nique admitted to Oprah
Winfrey on Monday that he repeatedly molested his little sister
starting when she was only 7 years old.

Mo’Nique, who won the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for
Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire, has spoken
publicly about the abuse at the hands of Gerald Imes, saying
she channeled “that monster” when she played the brutal mother
in the film.

“I’m sorry, Mo’Nique. I’m sorry,” Imes said Monday on The Oprah
Winfrey Show. “I betrayed everybody’s trust. I broke that trust.
I broke that bond.” Mo’Nique declined to be involved in Imes’s
interview or respond to his apology.

Imes blamed the sexual abuse, which happened over a period of
two years mostly while Imes believed Mo’Nique was sleeping, on
the fact that he too had been molested and was masking his pain.

“I started using cocaine, heroin, alcohol at the age of 11,” he
told Oprah. “I used these drugs to hide my own pain, to hide my
own fears … The drugs allowed me and afforded me the
opportunity to hurt my sister.”

He said he hid the shame he felt at having been sexually abused
himself and took it out on his sister, who is now 42.

Imes was later sentenced to 12 years in prison for molesting
another girl. But now he wants to repair his relationship with
his sister and move forward.

“I can only hope by coming forth today … that somewhere down
the line … we can come back together as siblings,” he said.
“I understand your pain. I truly think, let’s share this
together and move on.” with drugs.

Josh Duhamel wants seven kids with Fergie…

Fergie’s husband Josh Duhamel has big plans for the Black Eye
Pea. He wants to have seven children with her.

The “Transformers” star recently admitted the pair was planning
to start a family, and he doesn’t want to stop with one kid.

Josh says, “I have always loved kids, I am happy with one, but
I will take seven.”

In a recent interview, Josh also reveals the couple have
contemplated adoption.

He adds, “I would love to adopt, especially the more you learn
about the kids that are out there that need parents. I am a
supporter of adoption.”

Simon Cowell planning multiple weddings…

Simon Cowell is planning to marry fiancee Mezghan Hussainy four
times, he will have several wedding ceremonies across the globe.

The “American Idol” judge confirmed last month that he will
exchange vows with make-up artist Hussainy after their
whirlwind romance.

A date for the nuptials has not been set, but Simon’s brother
Tony revealed on Monday that the couple is planning extravagant
weddings in Britain, the U.S., and the Caribbean.

He tells the U.K.’s Real Radio, “My mum is over in L.A. sorting
out the lovebirds and coming back hopefully with a wedding date
so we can release it live here on Real Radio.

“Mum’s final words to me before she flew off to L.A. were ‘Last
year he said he was never, never, never going to get married,
this year he’s getting married four times, once in Brighton
(U.K.), once in L.A., once in Barbados on a yacht, and once in
Hollywood’.”
